1940s era (probably reynolds 531) steel french track frame (follis)
suzue flip-flop/wolber in back and mallard/mavic ma 2 in front
suntour sprint cranks and 42t ring, dura-ace 15t cog
shimano bb remarkably fitted to a french threaded shell (bought the bike this way)
time atac pedals
broosk professional
profile bars
nitto stem
105 brake lever

:)

any suggestions? (other than that i shouldve cleaned it up before showing it off) ..this summer i am thinking about replacing the fork (less rake) and a new wheelset (i want phils) and also it could use a better headset and a smaller brake lever. i just need to figure out what color scheme to go with.. all black? ... i think that might be too boring..... black plus chrome? how much chrome? stem? bars? fork? i surrender to the fashion police....

Very classy. I love those seatstay ends that wrap around the lugs. Don't see those very often.

Maybe black with a white panel...

That's quite an interesting frame. From what I can see of the lugs, they look pretty cool. If you could get the lugs painted a different colour to the tubes, it would show them off - although that's usually an expensive proposition.

It looks super long too. Whats the top tube/seat tube measurements on that sukka?

indeed. i have never had a frame fit me so well as this one. im a lanky 6' 1 1/4".
seat tube: c-t 61cm
top tube: c-c 62cm

yeah itd be cool to highlight the lugwork. id rather throw many into better components, though. i just cant tell if i should work them into a color scheme ... rims, tires, handlebar tape, stem, fork, cranks, etc... chrome finished or black or wacky ano tie-dye???

I'd go for white highlights. Outline the lugs, either classic seat and down tube stripes or Mercian-style barber's pole seattube, white bar tape, white tyres?

Gorgeous. That seat cluster is fabulous. The head lugs with the name built in are too cool. And I love the fork ends, I didn't know they were making those back in the day.

I think it should stay stove pipe black with silver anodized components. A bike like that doesn't have to work hard to look classic, it just does.

its weird how different it looks now that i put the brooks on my touring bike (for summer tours). now it has an older black selle italia on it and it looks a lot less antique.

i think in the fall i will highlight the lugging and paint a set of stripes on the seat tube.. i just need to find somoene with enough skill to pull it off.

i like those bars, too.

i bet if you want to highlight the lugs you could just use some testors model paint, as long as you have a steady hand.

I've heard of people using the Liquid Paper pens to highlight lug edges. It's not quite up to professional standards, but it does the job. See Sheldon Brown (http://www.sheldonbrown.org/quickbeam/), it looks to me like that's how he did it.

With the great lugwork on your bike, it would require a real artist.

The Duplicolor touch up bottles now come with both a brush tip and a tip that resembles a ballpoint pen. The may be yet another viable avenue.
