Has anyone ridden Mt Evans to the summit in May like say after Memorial Day? I've done it from Echo Lake and from Bergen Park on a 7-speed mtb over the last 2 years. Don't have my Raleigh touring bike now, while its in MN. so I mtb everything :)

The road is usually not open and covered in snow in May till the snow plows get up there and clear it.

Yes, I doubt it will be passable in May. In March, it actually looked pretty clear, but we got a lot of snow up there in April.
Edit: I take that back. The website says they are expecting to open it on May 22nd this year. I will probably plan on riding it Memorial Day weekend, if the weather is good.

Interesting to read that May 22nd is the earliest it can open because of an agreement with the forest service. It looks like it is already plowed down by the gate (from the photos above), but it is the areas that hold the deep snow that are the biggest concern.
I wonder if they will patch any of the road damage this year.
