A friend has asked me to try to sell his Derosa Super Prestige that has been collecting dust and rust in his basement. The bike is from what I have read at least 20 or more years old. It has a 7 speed Campy group on it that is in great condition. The wheels have tubular tires on them flat of course. He says that it is Super Record but I am not sure. I have taken some pictures and maybe you guys can help me with the identification. Just trying to gauge what I have and what it may be worth. Any help is much appreciated. I did a rough measurement from the middle of the bottom bracket to to the top/middle of the seat tube and it is 56cm.

Levers are C-Record, but crank, brake calipers, shifters, seat post, FD, and RD all appear to be Super Record. The big question is what size is it. I can tell it's not my size or I'd be all over it. If you put this on eBay, it's worth whatever it brings and the sky is the limit. These bikes tend to get out of hand in an auction setting. If it gets cleaned up prior to sale, it should bring very nice money.

I'd look at this bike a couple of different ways.

1) Put it up on ebay with no reserve. Let the market take care of the matter.

2) Get to work. The bike looks a fright. Clean all visible parts, lube bearings/stem/seatpost, add new tires/tubes, new wrap on bars, brake pads, etc. Clean the wheels thoroughly, and make sure the wheels have been re-trued. In other words, sink a few bucks into it. Then repeat step #1.

It really looks like a beautiful bike, and deserves some love. One of my riding buddies purchased a refinished model quite similar to yours locally for $950. Our club members thought he got an exceptional deal!

Except the inner chainring, which is Nuovo Record. The Turbo seat is very nice as well.

This is looking to be a De Rosa Professional. What is the tubing? Looking at the back of the bottom bracket where the chain stays attach is a help in ID, too (probably a mid-later 80s). Have a single shot of the whole bike from the drive side?

Yep, it's SR for the drive train and apparently everything but the levers. Looks like it needs to be cleaned up a bit and you have some minor rust issues on the guides. This bike rides GREAT and is one of my favorites on the road. Sky's the limit indeed as it will probably fetch +/-1000 on eBay, although you never know as it's fickle with pricing seemingly going up and down with wind direction. IF this beast was cleaned up totally, you could see some nice ducats.

Super Record with a Nuovo Record inner chainring.

EDIT: JohnD beat me to it.
