Finally got the light mounted up... outstanding light, and the mount is working out well.

Dang! That is one nice looking setup.
HI bMike,
the light rig looks good, ill have to be a bit more creative as My light is a homemade quad LED thats uses a small stainless suger shaker for a housing, the mount I have now I made from the handle of a large stainless stock pot spoon but its asstandard crown type mount so Ill be at the drawing board when I get the rack/bag installed.
I have ordered a marks rack (THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT) i ordered the optional sets of longer stays THAT RIVENDELL SELLS
I measured my fork/lowrider bosses and the 10.5" length stays that comes with the marks rack were borderline so the extra set of stays will be insurance and will work for sure.
back to the acorn bag , is the main section of the acorn Boxy bag bigger than your ortlieb?? I was looking dimensions up online and I dont know If I believe any of them
I have an ortlieb ultimate 5 plus (smaller size) the ortlieb isnt much smaller (according to the liter measurment thats posted by ortlieb) in cubic inches the Acorn comes out at 96 cubic inches bigger??? thats 1.5 liters so that should be quite a bit as far as practical space.???
Your thoughts please ,
again the light mount looks sound (aint mcmaster -carr great??) I have a catalog its a few years old but still works great for getting ideas or when no place else has anything. I bought some funky stuff from them over the years.

On the road in SFO... far away from BTV by way of EWR... so I'll have to wait to get the dimensions for you.
I have an older Ortlieb... I think it is the Ultimate 3? Not sure.
Love it for sure, just don't like the way it mounts.
The main part of the Acorn may be about the same size (seems bigger) - but you get 2 thin side pouches (energy food, thin cable lock, and reflective ankle bands), the 2 back pouches (camera, energy food, cell phone, etc), and the nice front pouch (brevet card, extra route sheet, gloves, and misc stuff). The Acorn is much easier to overload, as the top and give a little bit.
