Found one pretty cheap. It has a "small" scratch about an inch long and they're taking 15% off for me. It has the Manitou fork and 8 speed cassette, and Acera derailleurs. Just wanted some opinions for an entry level bike, seeing that I'm just trying to get started.

The length of the scratch isnt as important as the depth. If the scratch is deep it may affect the integrity of the frame. Alot of entry level bikes are easy to get for at least 10% off MSRP, so consider that when buying and look into what you are getting 15% off of (their normal price or MSRP).

It was on sale for $325 and she's gonna take another 12% to 15% off. The scratch is very superficial. It looks like someone leaned it up against a corner and it fell over on the frame. Very small and just nicked the paint a little, can't even hardly notice.

I'm gonna take another look this afternoon, get their final price and ride it some to see how it feels. I was just a little unsure about their frames, how strong and whether the brakes are decent, and if the "integrated shifter and brake levers" are good enough to get started with. I couldn't find which brakes are on that model in the specs on the web, didn't look on the bike, I'll look today.
