We are about the put our stoker kit on ebay. The kit was on a older Trek tandem - the frame measures 4 inches around (does that sound right). We definitely had to shim it to make it fit. Now, how do I know the diameter of the bottom bracket shell is (i think that's what it is called - the thing you bolt to the frame itself). When i measure it appears to meaure 1.5 inches - does that sound right?

Hi can you take a picture of it? 4 inches sounds too big. But most people talk about the diameter of the tubes not the circumference. You can't slim too much space or it will not hold well.

C = pi D.

4" = 3.14159 * Diameter

Diameter = 1.27324 inches - sounds like 1.25 inch diameter.

I'll try to post pics tonight of the kit on the frame and the bracket on the kit itself. Thanks guys.

I'm having trouble posting my pics here. Deaneck, will you PM me your email - I can email you pics. Its an older Trek - tubes are certainly not oversized by any means. My husband used a tape measure tonight - he measured 1 3/8.
