Recreational & Family - A bike to grow with... folders and compacts.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Last year I was looking for a bike for my oldest daughter who was then ten and is a taller girl... she did not like any 24 inch bikes and a 20 inch bike was too small and I just happened upon a 1980 Raleigh Saffron which is the non folding version of the Raleigh Compact.

She has loved this bike from day one and tells people she will have this bike when she is 30 because it can be adjusted for someone her size as well as someone my size.

I know how challenging it can be to keep up with how fast our kids grow so was wondering of any other parents have considered or went out and bought a folder for their older children ?
