The extent of my off roading ie has been city trails till last fall when I went biking in Gravenhurst thro the DarkPark. used my friends sons bike. I want to get into more serious trails like we did that day but need my own bike first. I will also be using it for commute within Toronto. Looking at four bikes-specialized hardrock and giant boulder and then giant rincon and giant yukon. the first two don't have disk breaks, something i'm not familiar with at all so I was wanting some imput on that. The rincon has rapid fire which is cool but nessary? what do you think? and other forums say the yukon is good for beginners but wears out:( im a broke musican so these are my choices due to a sale prices my friend at Sporting life can get me. what do you think i should go for? my main concerns are downhill and unsteady suface falling over and dieing and my bike lasting a while.
