Is anyone familiar with the Aerohead SG/LX wheelset? I can get a set for close to the cost of the Mavic/Utegra setup I had been looking at.
The Mavic OP's/Utegra are $199/pair, the Cane Creek's are $229... I was going to us the 20% off Performance coupon, so it would be $160 vs $186 for the set plus shipping.
This would be the backup to my Ksyrium elites, and the primary wheels on my second bike.
Which would you go with?

I have the Aeroheads. I went from a 10 yo set of Dura ace with Mavic OPs to the Aeroheads. I'd recommend that you get Aeroheads over the Mavics. I don't have any experience with other aero wheels so I can't comment about anything else.

The results I saw from this were almost exactly opposite from what I expected. The best performance gain that I saw from the Aeroheads were on the flats. Climbing was not noticeably better. Descending was better with the Aeroheads. I only noticed this after going back to the OPs one day. Descending seemed skittish compared to the Aeroheads. Who'd a thunk it?

A side note. I just bought a set of Velocity Deep Vs for my fixed gear. The rims look exactly like the Aeroheads and I assume they come from the same factory.

I have the CC Arrowhead Cronos and a set of Mavic Open Pros with Ultegra hubs. I love my Open Pros and use them for training. They are sturdy, smooth, but not that light. I got my Cronos from Nashbar for about $229 last year. I love them. They are smooth and fairly light. They are still pretty true as well. I haven't heard anything bad about CC wheels and, from first hand exprience, I think these wheels are a bargain.

I agree if I had a choice, I'd go with the CC. Go for it, I think you'll like them.
