I think I know what commuting on the North West coast is like. The DJ this morning announced we've had 10 out of the last 15 days where it has rained. It sure makes the commute rather damp. I was heading out yesterday for some errands, and it started raining, so I called it off, I commute in this crap, I'm not going to do fun rides in this crap.
I feel like pulling out my winter bikes, just cause all the dampness, they also have racks for panniers, but panniers tend to get water logged. I know by the time I figure out the bike problem we'll have a long stretch of warm sunny weather.
4 months away from winter riding.

Yep, the rain gets old quick.
I reckon it's part of what makes us such a hardy lot. :D

That song always reminds me of "A Clockwork Orange" :)

I've been riding on wet roads a lot. But I've ridden in the rain only a few times this month. I don't know how I've managed to miss a lot of it. Looks like I might not tonite :(

I do fun rides in the rain. In fact, I prefer those conditions.

Well, today's commute turned into a fun ride. I was really early after a few errands on the way to work, so instead of my usual, hit a java joint, I took a left handed turn and wound up doing 41 miles. It was a joy, even in the rain, wind and traffic. I wound up going by through Long Lake the lake not the town, and the lake on the north end was out of it's banks with almost 2 feet of water over the road. So, I got a free chain wash. I had shed the rain gear cause I was just as wet in it as I was riding in the rain, so I got sort of a shower as well. I had a blast of a commute!

Me too! As for weather, we have had our share of cold spring rain lately. For me the refreshing effect wears out very quickly, after that it is just boringly cold and uncomfortable. I cannot seem to get my clothing sorted out in cold spring / summer showers. I am either too cold or steaming. Warm rains are not a problem, as I usually don't bother with rain gear at all then. Apparently I need something lighter, more breathable (and, consequently, probably less waterproof) than I currently have for rainy days.

But things finally seem to be warming up a bit here. Today's temps are expected to hit +20C, with more to come towards the end of this week. Yay!
