Bad timing. The problem is that the State TT Championship is the day before in Jacksonville, which is 350 miles from Miami.

Assuming anybody has any juice left after doing a 40k Championship TT, then they have to drive 6 hours to do the Miami race.

I wouldn't expect a big turnout.

Is there a reason why that race is so expensive?

That's cheap. Usually they're $30 around here, but that $1 off is a bargain! And the pay-out is probably only 5 deep.

We race for the fun of it and competition, not the big bucks.

Seriously though, I've raced that Miami Lakes course before and it was like driving on the Palmetto Expressway. I'll pass.

There was some talk of a 4 man TTT on the same course as the State TT championship the next day.
Haven't seen any announcement, so its probably not going to happen at this point.

I take that back.

All my races are now in the 26-35ish dollar range. Training race is 11 though, so that's all good. Maybe I should budget my race fees to 1 days worth of work a week ;)

So long sweet $14 spring crits...

I had gone to Vista View and Miami Lakes last year...they were definitely not my thing. The circuit at the dump on Sat kicked my ass to begin with.

No, but I do remember several pileups at the crit that were caused by other than racing . Dude in a wheelchair at the start/finish taking photos that caused a huge pileup by rolling out into the course to get closer sending 2 people to the ER, spectators that kept going further and further out on the course while the officials did nothing about it, another crash caused by pushing that sent another rider out in an ambulance... all in the same race.

The circuit race at the dump/landfill was fine because it split things up nicely. I sure as hell wasn't expecting it though. lol.

Sounds like the typical roundup down here!

I have yet to finish a race at the dump. That damn hill is MURDER. I wonder what the grade is...

Just pace yourself over the hills and don't worry what the other guys are doing. Then TT on the flats. If my fat ass can get 12th (or 13th?) there, anyone can FINISH the race.
