I have around 5500 miles on my D7. The rear tire has some parts where the rubber has worn down to where you can see the cross bead. but the front tire looks okay. Should I still replace both?
It seems my best options are the Big Apple, Marathon supreme, Kojak. I do all road cycling and would like something fast. However I do know that I won't get more than a few percent gain in speed compared to my stock kenda tires. but I'll take what I can get!
you can change rear to front. Front lasts typically 2x as long as rear.

I hear a lot of good things about the Kojak and I plan on upgrading to them soon on my D7. Biketires direct seem to have the best price.

Is there any downside to getting these slick racing/performance tires? Will they fit the Dahon D7 rim? I do ride after it has rained sometimes. Do I need something like this:

Higher tire pressure is going to result in a harsher ride, that's a given. I don't know how these specific tires perform on wet pavement.

They are excellent in wet conditions too, due to their rubber. Only mudd or gravel is not their terrain. I wouldn't recommend them on snow either. Unfortunately you can only get 20"x1,3" the wider 2.0" is only available in larger diameter.

I have gone ahead and ordered these ones:

The price seems right, not too expensive. I already have a bunch of 1.5 inch tubes so I did not want to buy a narrower tire. I take it these will fit the Dahon D7 with no problem?

the racers are nice .... no doubt
kojak with wire is cheaper even ( 27 dlr) and feels faster, but the racer is a good fast alround tire in that size .....

my marathon racers arrived last week. I really can't say whether they're faster or slower than my stock Kenda tires. Maybe they need some breaking in to get the thread down smooth. But that may take a couple hundred miles.
