I was browsing craigslist in the closest big city to me and found what was adverted as an older pug that needed some work:

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/bik/1152069472.html

I sent the owner an email to see if they could/would tell me any more about it. Their reply wasn't very helpful. I've been trying to figure it out ever since.

Went and looked at retropeugeot.com. I figured out that in the US, pugs started having solid color forks instead of half-chromed ones sometime in the mid-1980s. But I can't find a bike with a solid color fork and a top-tube decal in any of the posted catalogs. Can't tell if it's a 5 or 6-spd or if it has two chainrings upfront. Pictures aren't the best and the owner's not saying much.

Anyone know what this is? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
-Bill

That bike has steel (very rusty) rims/hubs, and probably steel, cottered, 3 arm cranks. Ugh! Then again, I have no idea what model it is!

Its an early P8.....'80-'81-ish. $50 in that condition is steep.

That's what I thought. Thanks for helping with the ID.
