Midliand, aka Steve the Klein Guy, had double milestone today.

His first ride of 50 miles and then what the heck, I pushed the poor guy to HTFU and do a metric.

He rose to the challenge. Literally, since I pushed him 1400 feet up Mt. Diablo as the final challenge leg of our ride to make it a metric.

64 miles. 4000 feet of climbing. We took in the aforementioned partial Diablo, the 3 Bears and Pig Farm Hill as well. Great job Steve!!

Thanks very much to bikingshearer and bigbossman for all the encouragement and support you have given my friend since he bought his first road bike just 2 months ago.

This is a great community to be part of, and Steve is finding that out.

Steve does not look too sure as he commits to Diablo and a full metric

Congrats, Midland.

Of course you realise that you are now doomed to the never ending vortex of "now that's done, what's next?"

heheh. Congrats, that's a great distance for only 2 months of riding. I love the "bonked/I'm so tired" pictures. This is my vacant stare at the end of yesterday's ride.

"now that's done, what's next?"

Congrats to Midland!

Great job! That's a lot of climbing to do the first time you do a ride that long.

Thanks to Mr. Oldstrong & all the cool people I've met so far,

3 Bears was nice, saw a deer. Pig farm going the other way was allright-Lance blew me away on the descent's but nice enough to wait & regroup.

Through Mtz. & up the Iron horse & then he pipes up with "hey let's finish this up by going up a bit of Diablo" ugh. But hey 62 & counting hopefully.
