On Sunday I took the Kona and BOB trailer six miles across town to load up at the Costco. I put a large size tote on the BOB and brought a backpack. Here's a rundown of what I was able to haul back:

Two large boxes o' vegeburgers
Two ten-packs tunafish
One package english muffins
One brick Tillamook pepper jack
One large bag frozen ravioli
One large box of fudgesicles
One eight pack clam chowder soup
One ten pack condensed milk
One four pack of the good quality chicken stock
Two fire extinguishers
One large bag Washington red apples
One large bag Washington onions
One three pack mayo
Some office supplies and batteries
One frozen pizza
Bottle of wine
and a few other items

Total cost was about $180, about half what I would pay at the local yuppy market and 2/3rds the price at the supermarket. And I can't say I had to leave much if anything behind because of the bicycle. All the liquid items maxed out the BOB for weight but it hung together.

I post this because a mass quantity run to th' Cost-co is is one of those trip most people would assume impractical or impossible on a bicycle.

My only concern is the fudgcycles. Did they survive without chilling?

He's in Alaska. He's probably lucky his wine didn't freeze.

Great job
I have been doing my Costco runs with just a couple of Wald Baskets on the back... Just been making more trips... It's about 8 miles round trip..
I am now waiting for my FreeRadical kit to arrive hopefuly this week... Should be able to do some serious hauling then...Downside though, the rips will become more expensive..l.

Well the photos got deleted, but I'll be sure to take a set on my next run.

It was pretty sunny but I kept the frozen stuff all together in the tote. The fudge got slightly soft but nothing serious. You could put a cooler on the BOB in hotter climes.

I still don't believe you can leave Costco with just one bottle of wine. You better have pics next time!
