Commuting - Uber Commuter

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Normally I ride my commuter 3 miles to a pickup point and ride a vanpool the 30 miles each way to work. Last week, and again this week, I took a day to ride the full 60 mile round trip. What a blast! Up at 5 AM and on the prepacked bike by 5:15. I make it to the fitness center at work by 7:15, grab a shower, change into work clothes, and I'm still at my desk 30 minutes early. I can lock my bike up at a light pole on the front row of parking in the guarded parking lot (like I NEED front row parking!) and at the end of the day, change back into SprocketMan and away I go home.
I don't know that I could do this every day, but I'm hoping my work schedule will slow down just a bit so I can ride at least two days per week.
A metric century (almost) and a full days work. It's almost like getting paid to ride.

You da man, SC!!! I have a similar deal, usually ride for 7 miles then drive the company truck the rest of the way (another 20 miles), but it's a great day when I can ride the whole trip!!! Problem is, it is usually just about impossible to co-ordinate truck location, weather and evening events (road ride one night, mtb ride one night, ball hockey one night) to allow the whole trip to happen. Then I have to make sure I can ride the whole trip back in the next morning (have to leave at about 5:30 am!)

Wow! A recent move has extended my commute from 11 to 30 miles. Thank God my wife and a friend both work at the same office. This way I can ride in the morning and get a ride home in the evening - or leave my bike at the office and ride it home the next day. What I really wonder is do you watch TV and pay your bills as you ride? Even if I wanted to do the round trip, that would mean like four hours a day on the bike. I can't commit that much time to riding.

Well, I don't think that I could this five days a week. The twice I've done it have left me pretty beat when I get home. Besides, when would I have time to read bikeforums?? But, I think I could manage twice a week without too much difficulty - weather permitting.
