Road Cycling - LOOK Pedals-locked in

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Help! I have LOOK A5.1 pedals, and I literally cannot get my right foot out. The tension is at its lowest setting, the cleat is not loose, and I have sprayed everything I could see (including the cleat) with silicone, all to no avail. I changed cleats and the new one worked for about 2 weeks, but it is now getting stuck as well.
This is not a matter of forgetting to unclip, or having weak ankles. Taking off the shoe and yanking as hard as I could, it still took a major effort for me to pull the shoe off the pedal.
For what it's worth, my right foot is my usual "set down" foot., so that cleat might be slightly more worn than the left.
The LOOK company has totally ignored 4 attempts to contact them for advice.....
Any help would be most appreciated!

Make sure you're actually loosening it rather than tightening it - lots of pedals are threaded opposite than what you'd expect.
Also, are you using the kleets which came with the pedals (or at least the recommended model number?) - a lot of them are close and look nearly the same, but actually do not work correction (esp with SPD).

i have had exactly the same problem, with my look a5.1's. i have done about 1500km on them now and they seem to be a bit looser now but still not perfect. not sure what the solution is, maybe there is a maufacturing fault???
which number do you have them set on the back of the pedal? i have mine on 9, seems to bit a bit better then 0 but it shouldn't really make a difference to the tension anyway, i guess.

That number is just the amount of float. Using less float might allow you to generate more torque, but it's murder on the knees!

I believe the screw in the middle of the pedal adjusts the tension.
