From another post I found on here this is probably just a U08 or something but it has many upgrades. Still, I don't know if I think it's worth the asking price. Agreed? I don't care about collectibility as much as just a nice looking vintage road bike that is light, quick and reliable. Thanks in advance for your help.

nice bike, but way too high. its pretty, so I bet they get a decent price for it, though.

Yeah, really high.

This line stuck out to me "Leather seat, leather brake hoods, one of a kind lugs." Leather brake hoods, really?? I can't see that clearly but it does look like there is some stitching. The one of a kind lugs line is bull though, there is probably hundreds of thousands of bikes just like it.

If you want a vintage bike that is reliable and light, you need to start looking for one of the nice Japanese bikes from the 1980s.

I have an '82 japanese lotus road bike, it's heavy as hell though. Reliable? Yes.

I bet your Lotus is lighter than the Varsity the OP ended up getting. The Varsity does get an A+ for reliability.

FWIW, my 83 Lotus weighs less than 24 pounds. But it is a higher end model, with Tange 1 frame. The Japanese made some great bikes in the 1980s, some average bikes, and some low end stuff as well.

Well, A guy walked into the bike store where i work and offered me $300 for it. I paid $15. Would've done it 'cept my Specialized mtb has a cracked crown and being 15, it is my only source of transportation.

Also, just weighed it, and it comes in at 26 lbs.

$15 to $300. You'll turn into a fine flipper.
