This may sound a tad silly to you more experienced folks, but which is the "correct" direction of rotation for the tread pattern on Armadillo all season tires?
Armadillo pic (http://www.specialized.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=5529&JServSessionIdroot=qv5097egv3.j27003)

They appear to be a water shedding type of tread and I suspect that it matters, but, no instructions as such.
Thanks

Treads on road tires do nothing. The contact patch is very small as it is. Your weight on top of it will keep you from hydroplaning. That being said, the rule of thumb for tire installation is to have the label on the drive side of the bike, and near the valve stem. That way, if you get a flat, you can use the label as a position reference while looking for the offending bit of shrapnel in the tire casing.

The tread design is pointed foreword\ the direction the bike travels.
>> referred to as chevrons, either as indents or treads arranged in bands- pointed foreword.

"That being said, the rule of thumb for tire installation is to have the label on the drive side of the bike, and near the valve stem." Is the shop method, and approved :D .

If the bike is upside down, the treads point backwards  .

The label always goes on the drive side. If you're really picky (like me) it goes right above the valve stem.
