My Father recently gave me his old Bianchi Sport SX (campione del mondo) because of his bad back. It is in pretty good shape, but unfortunately is to small for me. I am looking to sell it, but have no idea of the worth.

I have posted a few pics here (http://gallery.me.com/jeremy.jacob#100008)

Would love to hear what you guys have to say!

In general the numbers we spit out are based on what we've sold similar bikes for or have seen similar bikes sell for. For instance, your bike is more than likely a 1988 model. A few weeks ago I sold this smokin' hot Limited for $275. Could I have gotten more? Maybe and probably. My Limited was/is in stunning condition with no more than 50 miles on it since new.

Your Sport SX is lower in Bianchi's lineup therefore it gets a lower price. That being said, I agree with rotharpunc, $225-ish. The markets been scattered as of late......it could go for more....or less.

Hello. I wish I had seen your Limited. it is too small for me but a '89/90 600 group in 100% condition would have been nice for my Sport SX. as for the black Sport SX posted here it is a '86. I have the same one and would love to find a super low milage "garage queen" for the componets.

Thanks. The black bike in post #1 no older than 1988. It has the '86-'87 World Champion decal between the shifters.

+1 $225.

Price estimates are based on personal experience selling similar bikes. Advice/commentary is free, so use your own discretion of course. If you have sold a lot of used bikes recently, then you will have the best local data. Many of us base our estimates on local markets. Actually, other than a couple of insane markets: Portland, San Fran and a couple of more, the rest of us see pretty similar values.

Hello. sorry Miamijim. I do not know why I always make that mistake (I guess because I equate that bike with moving to boston in '86) you are correct it is a '87 I bought it a year after I moved there.

Where do you live? Ebay or CL?

In a major metro area, or big college town, I'd call it $325, if it were fully overhauled (fresh grease and adjustments, good tires, etc,) and ready to roll. If it's been sitting for 20 yrs., $250 would be fair.

On Ebay, or in a cooler CL market, $225 seems like a good estimate.

My two pennies....
