The difference is I never knew Promax made disc brakes.
Seriously tho, based on my experiances with v-brakes, Promax makes components for low to medium price point bikes, whereas most people who have ridden Hayes (including me) think they make an exceptional disc brake. Check out the March issue of mountain bike action for a good review of the Hayes, Hope, and Shimano XT disc brakes. Also check out www.mtbreview.com
