Okay I know that it is uncommon and, at least according to some (UN), insane for men to wear underwear under their bike shorts. Wondering if this is the same for women??

Hello, just-tri-it. Welcome to the forums.

To answer your question, it is just the same for women. No underwear under padded bike shorts for any reason ever. No excuses.

same deal;
depends on whether you want chafing etc. to deal with
fabric wrinkles and elastic rubbin for miles and miles?
are the undies made of a wicking fabric?

no thanks
nothing between me and the shorts
as you've probably noticed tho, folks sway both ways on this issue

What's wrong with a thong though? Is that on the list also?

I just can't seem to tell a difference with or without underwear, and I am having a hard time trying to not wear them. I did not wear them on only one occasion. I just don't want to end up with "nascar" bike shorts.

Not only do I never wear anything under my bike shorts/bibs, I positively LIKE the feeling of the chamois creme :D

If any of you see some ladies with underwear on under their shorts, I advise you to let me know and I'll handle it. I have a Ph.D. in Political Science and can be very "diplomatic" :D

If I ever see a female biker flying away from someone screaming "PERVERT!", I'll know it's you. :D

They never give me the chance to explain ...

Maybe it's the silly grin, strange accent, and the tub of chamois creme :D

I am a woman, and I don't wear underwear under my bike shorts. I do find it much more comfortable that way.

No unders under the bike shorts for me. Too hard to squeeze myself into the shorts, let alone the underwear too.

The modern synthetic chamois is much better for this for women than the old leather chamois was. Think about it. . .

We get this chanel that airs all kinds of recorded classes and seminar stuff from the U of WA and according to this doctor lady, that was giving a seminar about women in the outdoors hiking and such, underwear is actually a very modern invention and can lead to a bunch of problems and, UWN will like this, she recommended skirts and either no under-where[?] or bloomers. Its availible as a media player or quicktime stream (1 hour) at http://www.uwtv.org/programs/displayseries.asp?collid=77 then go down to women in the wilderness, 4th from the bottom

Nice thread-nice picture- nice a##(sorry) I have always said that women who look that good are not real, they are aliens. By the way wearing underwear under your shorts (man or women) is going to cause some material binding no matter what. I guess it just depends (you could try them if you are over 50 like me) to what extent and how much discomfort it creates.

The United Nations has declared it insane for men to wear underwear under their bike shorts.

UN, in this case stands for Underwear Nazi, not United Nations. And, I have declared that it is insane for anyone to wear underwear under their bike shorts.

UN

Don't make me bring up that picture of the chick on the bike again...

This picture is so wrong in so many ways.

No helmet, no gloves, improper shorts...

Oh well, since she isn't wearin padded lycra shorts, I guess we can allow it.

UN
I wonder, if she turned around, would she have a face like Bob Roll?
