I picked this up a few years ago at Value Village for $14 and gave it to my mom. It has a basket now and it still rules.

Why don't I ever find bikes like this for $14? Sheesh.
My mom told me she wants a bike so I gotta be looking around ... I wonder what the chances of me getting her to ride a fixed gear are ...

I do believe Bikes Direct still has some Pink Motobecane Messengers if your mom like Pink.

My Mom is a real character, so I was not surprised to find her at the local Performance Bikes riding a beach cruiser around the interior of the store with a sales guy in tow trying to explain to her that she can't ride the bike around inside. So she takes it out in the parking lot, goes for a quick spin, brings the bike back in, and says, "I don't like it. I didn't feel like I was flying." That's my mom. She rides a Dahon now, though I'm not sure she gets that flying sensation from it.

My mom wants an electric bike. Which is better than no bike, I guess.

My mother just asked me to rebuild her old schwinn (YUSSSS!), I'm not sure exactly what it is though, I haven't seen it yet. I'm excited though.

Aw, you guys are so nice to your moms! Makes me feel like a bad son. Course, I am the only one in my family who has a passion for bicycles. Still.

My mom has two bicycles, albeit bad ones, but she makes no effort to ride them. She wants this light blue Schwinn, though, that we saw at the store. I doubt she would ride it, either way.
My sister, who bought a ss/fg for 400$, rode it a few times around the time she purchased it, but has not really touched it since. She claims she does ride it, but I touch it more than she does only when I am parking my bike next to hers.
I wish my family was more into cycling. :(

She rides with Look clipless pedals. :P
It's weird, because my parents have been avid cyclists their whole lives. My mom is a triathalete and my dad rides trails all the time.
I'm thinking about taking my mom out on a long ride for mom's day too.

So jealous of your family. Mine are not athletic at all. I love em though.
