I'm in the middle of writing an article for a magazine writing class on bicycling in urban Ohio, particularly in Cincinnati/NKY, and I realized that I need quotes and anecdotes from several sources. So, if you're from this area, or are at least familiar with it, I'd appreciate anything you can slide my way. Here are some questions to get started, but feel free to go off on a tangent or to completely ignore the questions. :) I really appreciate the help...
1. What kind of bicycling do you prefer (off-road, road, etc.)? What kind of bike do you ride (brand, style, and any major modifications)?
2. What neighborhood do you live in? What are your favorite routes? How long are your average rides?
3. What is your favorite aspect about bicycling in Cincinnati? The least?
4. Is there anything that the city of Cincinnati could do to improve bicycling here, and have they done anything thus far to improve bicycling here?
5. Have you ever been harassed while riding? And have you found any certain neighborhoods to be more receptive to bicyclists than others?
6. Do you own a car? Is Cincinnati bicycle commuter-friendly?
7. What are your favorite local bike shops? Why?
8. And what are your favorite outer-Cincinnati rides? The ride to Oxford? Yellow Springs? The Loveland bike trail? Why?
And as I said before, I'd like to get some good responses to these questions before 1 PM EST. Yes, I am a procrastinator, but I swear to buy everyone a beer when I make it out to some of the local rides!
