Mountain Biking - Upgrade/Modification Help!!!

Ok here is the bike im purchasing, im wanting to know what the best route to DH conversion is....

what parts would you change out first and what would you suggest as replacements...


I will put this bike through hell so any and all suggestions are appreciated greatly...

Buy a different bike. You won't be downhilling without severely injuring yourself without rear suspension.

unfortunately i am not a fan of rear susp. and i guess its not really downhill im after more freeriding and big hits...

What I would recommend for upgrades do not justify the costs. Why not just buy a bike designed more for what you intend to do, something like the Specialized P.2 or P.3.?

Seriously, I'd swap out the fork and the cranks. The cost to do that would be about the same as just buying a P.2, ($610 vs $770), plus you get a better frame, a better fork, a chain guide, bigger tires, more DJ geometry, which suits exactly what you intend to do with the bike.

Also look at Kona's Roast/Stuff line of bikes.
