Hi
Has anyone had any experience of "Fort" bikes? I am looking to swap my custom built Surly fixed/single speed which cost me well over a grand to build and has been hardly used due to arthritis for a tourer or some thing comfortable with decent gears. I have been offered a Fort tourer equiped with 9 speed Campag Veloce. I can't find any info as to wether its a fair deal. Appreciate and advice.
Cheers, Harry

You're comparing apples with oranges in a way.

A single speed which cost over a grand must have been all frame (cost proportion). Typically, a bike equipped with Veloce (good, but kind of entry level Campag) would come in under a grand in my opinion. I think you should ask for a breakdown on your bike and the offered bike so you can establish comparative prices for frame and gears. Start negotiations from that point.
