Introductions - Another 57 year old having fun

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

After several months of spinning classes I decided to take my act on the road last May. I rode my son’s mountain bike for about six months and then bought myself a Trek 5200 for Christmas – my first new bike!! Six months later I have completed a metric century (Tierra Bella) and an imperial century (Wine Country Tour). Northern California is blessed with beautiful scenery with an no shortage of challenging climbs. I’m currently doing about 90 miles miles per week and 6,000 feet of climbing plus 2 spinning classes and weight training. The objective is to build up my base in preparation for several hilly centuries in late summer.
