Here's my ride. It's currently in commuter mode but it can be fitted with Kenda Kwick 700x35's in a jiffy. Fetish Cycles Ankh, 105's all around, Avid Shorty 6 brakes, Sug 48/36 Crank, Eggbeaters, Ultegra 12-27 9-speed, Fetish Carbon Seatpost, Kestral Carbon Bars 44cm with Ritchey Pro 120 stem, Cane Creek S2 headset, borrowed Bianchi Carbon Fork, Velocity Arrowheads wrapped with Mich Carbons 700x23, and WTB Saddle. Very fast and very lightweight with potential for more weight loss. Belly included.

It was really a crap shoot when I was searching for a quality steel frame, but I got lucky as it seems Chris Kelly knows a thing or two about building bikes. The bike rides so well I thought the tires were low, even though I had checked them just minutes earlier. I don't know how he did it, but the feel of the bike is truly unique, as if there really was a suspension hidden in there somewhere. Cracks and sharp edges pass by with a muted thump reminiscent of a BMW with new shocks, the same imperfections that knock my hands off the bars on my steel frame no-suspension mtb with fatty slicks.
Yet when I put the power down, the bike responds well and has handling to match. Truly amazing, and perfect for the 'city beater' role the bike will play. I'm no expert, but production frames I've ridden can't even come close the experience this bike offers.

just got this off ebay...rock lobster alum team bike. rides great! but the saddle does not interface well with my rear-end. it has record hubs with tubular rims, very nice but I'm thinking of swaping them onto one of my road bikes. also working on putting some riv-nuts since the team bikes were not built with waterbottle mounts. :)
Yep :)
oh, its all stock for now: http://bianchiusa.com/06_san_jose.html
on my list to replace: saddle (i like brooks), maybe the bars, i still haven't decided, and pedals, also not sure though i'm leaning towards getting some crank brothers mallets.
i also just ordered some IRO hubs, gonna probably just relace the stock wheels/tires to them so i can have a flip/flop in the rear, i miss riding fixed. if i feel like spending money, a chris king headset is probably in the near future.

Thanks Josh! I asked because from a distance your break levers look at bit like carbon non-Ergopower Campa's (from their TT Record group) and the cranks like 2003 carbon Record :)
it's done! it's done! it's finally done!
haven't weighed it with tyres, but sans tyres it's 21 lbs - so it should be 25-26 all in.

Timo,
That bike is sick... It hurts my feelings (knowing that it is not and will never be mine), but it lets me know real people can build amazing bikes.
Cheers!!!

wow, that thing is incredible.

This is my new cross ride. Its replaced an aging and heavy Soul Monk.
Its sold as Frame/Fork only, so the build took a little while to assemble.
Frame - TCX (Medium)
Fork - Carbon
Wheelset - Bontrager Race Lite (stolen from my Lemond Victoire)
Tires- cheap Conti Steel bead.
tubes- cheap and black.
Cassette- 12-25 Ultegra
Seat - WTB Titanium (comfy and reasonably lite, will likely be upgraded)
Post- Bontrager Race X Lite (again off of Lemond)
Stem - Bontrager Race xxx lite (from Klein Palomino XXX) 105mm
Bar - Bontrager Race Lite 46cm (had a Salsa Bell Lap 46 flaring to 52...the pure 46 seems narrow by comparison)
Headset - Giant Integrated
Spacers - Bontrager Carbon
Shifter/brakes - 105 black
front D - 105 braze on bottom pull (upgrading to a clamp top pull ultegra or da soon)..the pulley system looks like a nightmare.
Rear - Ultegra long cage (i occassionally run a 12-34 MTB cassette for really hilly races/rides)
Cranks - Profile Design Carbon 175mm 135bcd
Chainrings - Stronglight 39/ Stronglight 51 (will be running single chainring config for races)
Chain - Sram (to be able to take it apart easily...and frequently
Brakes - Shimano BR 550's. Seem fine so far.
Cables- Bontrager cable set, nice stuff. first time i've used it.
Tape - Silva Carbon.
Pedals - Eggbeater Stainless steel
currently it's doing road duty but i'll put michelin Jets on it for cross.
thanks for looking.
Here's a phew photos.
this is it before i had what i needed to build it up:
midway built.

Only one ride so far, carbon fork provides a smoother ride, bike is much more responsive to rider effort than the old Soul was. Decrease in weight is perceptable.
cheers.
[QUuh.. timo.. why didn't you just go with record? don't tell me it was the price...
Actually I fear the carbon lower arm of a Record rear derailleur is to fulnerable for cross so I use a Chorus one.

My first road/? bike. put the Seca slicks on for speed in the city. swapped the horrible, taint-torturing stock saddle for a comfy Specialized BG. the Arkel Tailrider is in the mail.must get the pack off of the back as it gets hotter here in phoenix. now which kind of rack? it has eyelets.

Apologies to the purists (for now, when fall comes it'll be pure). Here's my shiny new kona jake the snake, '05 frame that I bought and built up myself (with a generous amount of help from a good friend). It pretty much kicks ass all over town and is even fun on the road.
I'm gonna get rid of these dumb bar ends though when I start working after this semester ends and get some STI levers.

A few months ago I sent Doug Curtiss (Curtlo Cycles) a deposit and then waited. After we spoke about what I wanted he got to work and I eventually got a tag from the post office saying there was a parcel waiting for me.
I built up the bike with Ritchey WCS stem, bars and seat post. Shimano Cantilever brakes, Regal Saddle, Centaur 10 compact crank, Front and rear ders, Shifters. American Classic 10 speed cassette. Shimano Ultegra hubs laced 3x to Mavic MA3 rims which I had in the garage ( still in the wrappers). In the pictures I have Michelin tires mounted, they have since been removed and replaced with Vredestein Campo Cross. I love the Campo Cross tire, and so it stand to reason that Vredestein would dis-continue it, I have no idea why they have done that.
The frame and fork ( a custom steel fork built by Doug) are True Temper OX Platinum, a nice light steel frameset.
The bike rides like a dream.

Not enough... or any!... X01's on here.
Here's mine, set up recently for some crazy fly by the seat of your pants road riding. Just about everything is stock (105's, SRAM 12-26 cassette, bontrager crank, yada, yada)... put on Ritchey DS Pro Z wheels and michelin carbon tires for the street. Normally it's got the bontrager select wheels and jones CX tires (which kick ass) when going off road (seated to the left in the pic):
Ok! Here's mine!

Thank you.
I really like the Vredestein Campo Cross which will run at both low pressure and high pressure, came in 28 and 32.
It seems that they have stopped making it and the repalcement, the Premiato is rated for max pressure of 60 pounds.
I am on the hunt for a new all purpose cross tire in the 28/30 size that will take higher pressure (90 to 95 pds).
Not easy to find so looking for info.
I cannot understand why they dq'd the Campo Cross.
The Ritchey Speedmax pro's are avilable in 28, 30, and 32mm, and can be inflated to 90lbs.

Here's my Waterford X-11 I picked up off Craigslist a few months ago. Came with full Dura Ace 9, Paul's Neo Retro, Open Pro/Ultegra wheels/Ritchey WCS CX tires. I replaced the Paul's with Tektros because there was never enough clearance on this bike to install them correctly so they deliver full braking power. Tektros work perfectly even though they don't do the bike justice! I use it for commuting and & have an extra set of wheels (both pics below) for riding road with my wife. Came with lots of blue as you can see and is growing on me so I decided to keep the theme with the blue road tires.

Just 'coz there aren't enough Voodoos here.
2000 Limba, Kinesis USA built Scandium with Wound-Up carbon fork and Shimano bar end shifters because I'm tired of replacing expensive STI stuff. Michelin mudders on Ultegra/MA3s for the dirt and Michelin Hi-Lite Prestige tires on Spinergy wheels for road riding.

I'm glad I just built this up, becuase my carbon LOOK bike was stolen yesterday!
Dura-ace shifters, Ultegra front and rear, Elita cranks, burly commuting wheels/tires, and a buttload of headset spacers. I rode it into work this morning and loved it. It's so nice not having to worry about every pothole or crack in the road.
