Hi to all,

I'm a lifetime cyclist who's only just realized his passion for road racing. Being from Belgium, I have an obvious cycling background, my hometown being Borgerhout, one i share with legends like Rik Van Steenbergen and Stan Ockers, and the obvious adoration for the greatest of 'em all, Eddy Merckx.
I've bought my first racer a few months ago (old Colnago) and find it addictive to go out and ride it.
My favourite style of bikes are old steel frames, but I'm not shy of recent efforts as long as they don't look like NASA built them.
I have a few questions about said "old Colnago" but would like to hear from some forumees , to point me into the right direction to avoid posting into the wrong section.

Thanks. All the best. Rule

I was just in Belgium. My grandfather was from Izegem. We loved it over there. I wish I would have had my bike. Have fun racing.

Welcome! post it up in the road forum. if it is really old maybe classic and vintage but the road forum will probably be your best bet.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out the road forum, as well as the classic and vintage.

Johnny Monkey, if you need advice on cool bars, good restaurants etc. Let me know, I'll gladly point out some decent places to visit.

I like Cyclemania's avater :)

Izegem, never been there myself, it's supposed to be nice, very thick accent down there;)

Cheers, some restaurant recommendations wouldn't go amiss. I love Belgian beer as well - we're also going to visit Chimay and stay a couple of nights in Rochefort.
