Yeah, that was my first thought as well. It looked pretty damned hard to peddle

Yes. I have not ridden that monster, but the guys who do tell me the secret. Pretend like you are selling ice cream to five-year-olds and ride slow enough for them to catch up!

I would like to get one of those. I think there was one for $200 in the Houston Craigslist a while back.
By the way, Husky just calls that a "cargo tricycle". Worksman makes similar tricycles, but then also makes ice-cream tricycles that have a built-on cooler. The ones with the cooler normally go for a lot more money in the used market.
The Worksman tricycle I have is geared low, so it's not that hard to pedal- think it's 32:21 or so (and keep in mind that New Orleans is flat). But it is slow- 8-10 mph or so- and tippy. I've seen pictures of a Husky-style trike that looked like it had 1:1 gearing, though they're not all like that.

Thank you posting these clips. Kind of a change of pace from some of your other material.
Does anyone have any experience or impressions on the Worksman Low Gravity bikes? I'm wondering how one of those might perform as a liight-medium duty cargo hauler.

How does that bike not high side with every turn? And brakeless fixed on that w/o handlebars? You guys are much braver than I.

How does that bike not high side with every turn?- You slow down for turns, lean in, keep heavy cargo over the wheels.
And brakeless fixed on that w/o handlebars? Think those are normally single-speed with coaster brakes, they're not brakeless or fixed gears. They do have handlebars, just the handlebars are part of the box part.
(Edit: Just as he turns it into the parking lot, you can see him coast just a second or so.)

It has a single speed coaster brake hub just like a beach cruiser. Personally, I think the gearing is wrong but the guys at the bike shop could certainly change it if they wanted to.

Here's a vendor I spotted over in Dallas. As best I can tell, this is a home-made cargo trike, with derailleur-geared BMX-type bike for the back end (note the extra long seatpost so he can comfortably ride it). On the Husky-type trikes, the headtube is real long for extra strength and rigidity; this just has the normal bicycle headtube. I can't see exact details of how it's made from the photo. Looks like it uses bicycle front wheels with supports on either side like the Husky's. I can't tell if it actually swivels at the headtube, or whether it has a separate swivel built in. The headtube angle may be modified to vertical, come to think of it.
