Professional Cycling - Valverde gets a 2-year ban

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Overdue IMHO

Essentially the same situation as Basso (without the eye-popping dominant victory in a Grand Tour demanding everyone's attention) - so it seems the same punishment being issued would be consistent.

good timing. they have essentially baned him from not two but three giros.
It's all good, when he comes off suspension he'll get a FAT contract with an ad campaign built around him and be faster clean than dirty. Crime pays.

He had to have known. Would have been better for him to just fess up in the off season - but then again, I doubt his goal has ever been to win the Giro. The Tdf or the Vuelta for sure, but not the Giro.

You're the one who said it's a good thing Basso's getting paid more than ever now. Why should Valverde not do the same?
And you're right - I had no idea Ted Stevens bought meth from a gay hooker and then threw it away......:p
