I know your supposed to remove your seat post every so often just to prevent it from getting stuck but how often is that? I have a carbon post into a 7005 AL seat tube. I have'tn done it in about 4 months mainly b/c it's set up so well I don't want to touch it. I suppose I could use a Sharpie or some such marker to mark the height. Thanks.
I doubt that you need to remove a carbon seatpost periodically since the carbon and aluminum do not corrode together. Even so, if you want to pull the seatpost, put a piece of tape around the post to mark the insertion level and you'll be able to reinsert it exactly where it was before.
Carbon won't get stuck in aluminum... also be sure not to grease the carbon post.

"Carbon won't get stuck in aluminum"
Would you like to place a wager on that? :)

I'm sure he meant: Carbon isn't supposed to get stuck in aluminum. I'm guessing you've seen this improbability?
If the planets align properly under a full moon and the African Field Daisy blooms, I'm sure it will get stuck :D

But only in a Cicada year.
If the coating on the carbon fiber seatpost gets scratched too badly, you can guarantee that it will be stuck!

carbon post+alluminum frame+corrosive sweat+no maintanence= stuck post. The two did not bond to one another, but the alluminum oxide "shrank" the tube diameter so much we had to cut the post out.
Of all seatpost materials to have to slot to pop out of a seat tube, I liked the carbon best. Only took a minute and you could tell when you cleared thru it.
