Well, I have been sick for the last week, so I havent been able to get out on the bike, but today was the big race in Trenton, and it being my first race to see, I had to go.. I also love photography, so I figured I'd take the digi-cam with me, and see if I could get any good shots.. I was pleasantly suprised!! :)
You can see all the pics here:

Cool...What sort of helmet with the big teardrop vent above the sunglasses? (frame 5)
...it being my first race to see...
Well, what do you think? Do those guys haul a$$ or what? :)
Nice shot of Bobby J.
Where the crowds as sparse as the photos seem to indicate or is it just the angles?

Haul a$$ is an understatement!! They averaged over 30mph!! It was INSANE.
As for the crowds- we hung out at a far end of the course where there were few people. The start/finish area were pretty darn packed though, as you might be able to see in the last few pictures on that webpage.

Great pictures. Using your link, the picture 4th row down in the middle is of a rider who used to race for my club #102 Adam Bergman. Keep an eye out for him over the next couple of years, he's got major potential.

Thanks EagleEye! :) There is a trick to it. First off, by following the subject, you blur the background, giving it the feel of motion (but you have to follow the rider carefully, or he will turn out blurry).. it takes quite a bit of practice. Also, it helps to have an SLR, so you can play with the shutter speed and apature. If you get real good at following, you can slow down the shutter speed, such that the wheels and the legs blur a little, but the bike and the upper body is nice and crisp.. adds to the sense of motion.. Mostly it just takes lots of practice!!

Cool! I do have an SLR, but can't seem to get as crisp a picture as you do/did. I'm no photographer, but figured I'd buy a nice SLR (Nikon N70) to take pictures of my wife's Tri races. None of my pictures comes out this nice.I'll give it more practice. Can I PM you if/when I have more questions? I'd really like to be able to take better biking pictures, like these, with my camera.
