I realize to some this is hardly a major accomplishment given it is nearly the middle of May, but it is significant to me. I have been commuting daily since last March, but I didn't have anything tracking my mileage until November, so I really didn't know how far I was going.

All the stats are better on more recent rides, but during the time period it was interesting to see an average speed of 13.5mph (last week it was 14.7mph), and a cadence of 77rpm (now it is 84rpm).

The most interesting stats are the cumulative ones though. Like the estimate that I burned 90,035 Calories, or that I climbed 61,013 feet (of course I descended that much as well).

My cadence is up about 5rpm from a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I changed was to turn on the low cadence alarm whenever I drop below 70rpm. That never happens under normal circumstances (it does go off when I first take off from a stop, which is pretty annoying). But, it is all psychological. I don't want the alarm to go off, so I am making a more concerted effort to keep the cadence up.

Oh, and as a completely unrelated side-note, our Marketing Department is promoting Bike To Work Week on our Intranet. The verbage and captions all talk about cycling, but the picture is of an employee riding a motorcycle.

Sounds like you're making excellent progress. Congratulations!

How many centuries are you planning for the summer?

I don't know if I would go so far as to say 'planned', but there is one here that is pretty compelling toward the end of summer that includes wine tasting and ends with a really nice dinner. For a first century ride that sounds about my speed ;)

Congrats on the mileage and the general improvements as well! I've been a real weenie the last few weeks and haven't been commuting due to unceasing thunderstorms every day for the last 3 or so weeks! Guess its about time to invest in some rain gear!
