Greetings! I've ridden for about a year, but you really have to wait until spring to ride up here (altitude 7000 ft) in the foothills of the Rockies (Los Alamos). I started with a mountain bike on the road to see if I really wanted to pursue biking, then got a (women's) Pilot 2.1 when I knew I had a serious love of it. This area really has very little flat riding but a lot of really wicked hills! I was a trail runner for the winter, then sprained my ankle, and bicycling really is helping to strengthen it back up. I'm hoping to get the right equipment this year so I can continue riding throughout the year.
