Heelllo! I just bought a Norco 4Hun frame (it's an MTB not a BMX) But it has a BMX bottem bracket. Anyways, i have no idea how the BMX cranks work, but they look alot different than MTB ones. Basically i want to know, how the chainring gets intalled, and how to put the cranks together and such. Pics would be helpful. Thanks!
Installing a BMX b.b is easy enough. If the b.b. you have is sealed bearing then insert the cups by hand as much as you can then tap in with a rubber mallet. Be sure there are no gaps like a headset. Of course your spindle will have to be in there when you do this. if it is a roller bearing a press may be needed. To install the arms simplu place on the spindle and torque down. The chainring will either be on a spider or just a ring by itself. In any accord, there will be s alot on the spider or ring that fits onto a nipple on the arm. On some there will be a washer that centers the ring. Then you place arm and ring on spindle and tourque down. Some arms have a pinch bolt on them this is tightened down after you torque down the arm.
