15 miles=24km about. How long does it take these young kids to do 15 miles?
My 8 and 9 year olds rode 17.5 miles over 6 hours, with several longish stops, and a few short ones.

well, I got an amazing suprise on saturday. I was at the prize-giving for a race I did, and they gave out an award for the youngest ever participant.
A 7 year old girl did the entire 160km (100mile) ride, over hilly terrain and windy conditions. This is an amazing achievment, and shows that pretty much anything is possible if you prepare for it.

I have 7 year old twin boys who have 20" bmx bikes and we ride all the time. My community has trails and I live on a cul-de-sac so they can go wherever they want, just like I could when I was young. We have easily done 15 to 20 mile rides together. They are amazed at how many miles I do but think they could easily do more one day.

It's already been said, but I say, Let her do it!
When my oldest was 3, we used to miss the bus occasionally and walk the 3 miles home. Kids can do almost any thing if you let them do it their pace, and make it fun. I use a trailer for my 7 year old granddaughter, but the problem is not energy, it is that she does not pay attention to traffic. I figure when she is a little older, she will listen better. Wish I had the finances to get a trailer-bike for her, because the exercise would be better for her, but we do not ride enough together to make it practical. We are looking at tandems, maybe I will get one of those...
