Hi All (I tried search, but did not find much),

I'd appreciate some guidance and help.

I want to replace the System Six fork on my Cannondale System Six. I noticed that it tapers from 1 1/8 at the top to 1 1/2 at the bottom. Are there alternatives other than getting another Cannondale System Six (or Super Six, which is the same from what I researched) fork? Can I go with most any fork that has a 1 1/8 steerer tube? Although, wouldn't I need some kind of shim for the 1 1/2 section? If going with something other than Cdale System Six or Super Six fork, would I need to put in some kind of headset adjustment or anything else?

Many thanks!!

propriety fork. several other manufacturers have started used tapered forks but yet unseen if you can use on c'dale. look and colnago are two that come to mind. personally i don't think you will able to use anything but a c'dale fork.

Hi alancw3, Thanks for that and, perhaps, not surprising :-) I'll look into the Look and Colnago forks a bit. If anyone knows of any "work arounds" or other solutions, I'd appreciate that. Thanks again alancw3
