whoa, bikeforums! long time no see.

so, this season i'll (probably) be racing on a bike with campy road cranks. due to the 135mm bcd, my chainring options seem to be pretty limited. lots of campy rings in the 39-42 tooth range as well as the 50-53 range, but i'm looking for something like a 46t to run as the outer ring in a double setup.

i seem to recall someone (flargle maybe?) linking to a site awhile back that had a nice selection of campy-compatible rings, but searches of the forum and of the web have been fruitless so far.

anybody got any leads on a 44-46t 135mm bcd ring?

what did you find, and where? I am i the same boat, dont want to buy a whole crank to get lower gearing. 46-36 sure would be sweet.

Lowest number of teeth will be 39 on a 135 bcd crank.

p.s. you likely won't be able to go lower than 39t, however, you should be able to get a high ratio by going with a 27 or 29t? You're obviously going to sacrifice your 11 or 12, but this is the price we pay for such a gearing : )

yeah, personally if i can't turn over a 39-29 gear i'm really better off on foot. but everyone's different in that respect.

well, i found the TA ring technicssor mentioned here:

although it seems to be out of stock at the moment. i may end up throwing the campy road cranks on a road bike and sticking a sram cross crankset on there for the season.

unless i get into grad school, in which case i'll be selling everything i own.

xxcycle in France carries lots of TA and Stronglight chain rings. You could also try Peter White Cycles in the US. I'm just buying and entire Mirage compact crank though. They are under $40 on ebay. Just please don't outbid me tonight... look tomorrow.... I'll buy a 46t ring later in the summer.
