Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Info: "Report this post to a moderator"

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just wanted to make this a bit more visible in case anyone else is wondering the same thing.

I decided to perform a BF experiment: what happens when you click on the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of a post?

Bottom line: the post is reported to a moderator. Pretty simple, huh? :)

The post I reported, along with more information about the reporting process, are in a test thread that I hijacked. Further details about the reporting process can be found in that thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=501355&p=8907946

In retrospect, I should have created my own thread.

In the event that the link fails: the original thread was titled "test", and was posted by RoboCheme on Jan 11, 2009.

It is simple, and as long as we are on this subject--it is perfectly all right to use this feature to report pretty much anything which a member finds troubling.

"This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."

If something's bothering you about a post, or you think there's a troll afoot, please report it! We can't see everything, and it helps us make our moderating more consistent.

Thanks!
