General Cycling Discussion - Brooks Injection Saddle

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
OK. I 've got over 1000 miles on each of my Brooks B17 saddles. It seems now that at least one of the rivets has decided to try and give me an injection. It has left a pretty good mark and hurts pretty good as well. I have hammered these things pretty hard with a standard hammer but they still look like they could cause a problem.
I don't know how to spell Ball Peene Hammer but I don't have one of those either. Anyone have any tips to stop this or any similar problems?

Return it. If you don't want to do that, when you hammer it, make sure you have something solid behind the rivet you're hammering. You probably already did that though, so it may just be a defect.

Selle Italia SLR....no rivets, comfortable, and nearly a pound lighter (400 grams or 14.1 oz, to be precise).

Thanks. Part of my new life plan is to quit worrying about spelling as well as a lot of other details. :D
