Fifty Plus (50+) - Colorado 2009 Bicycling Events

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For those of you journeying to CO for our first BFN 50+ annual ride, here are some other bicycling activities:

I also give my highest recommendation to the book, Road Biking Colorado: The Statewide Guide by Michael Seeberg, and also available from Bicycle Colorado (http://bicyclecolo.org/itemdetails.cfm?id=310).
It covers over 150 routes with pictures, descriptions, ratings and elevation profiles. It calibrates nicely with my impressions of the routes I rode last summer. If it says moderate, it means moderate.

My goal is to do Triple By-Pass! Here's the only link I could find:

Please advise if there is a better one. It says 125 miles with 11,000 feet of climbing. I've done two rides tougher than that this year already. However . . . they were at considerably lower altitude, which has to make a HUGE difference.
Anyway, at least once before I die, CO for Triple By-Pass! For 2009 it's already full, plus I'm signed up and paid for Seattle to Portland on that day. Maybe next year?

We're staying with a friend in GJ for a few days. Too bad she doesn't ride; this looks like fun.
