Mountain Biking - RIP Anthony Sloan

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I signed up for the Yeti email list when I bought my bike, and I received an email yesterday saying Anthony Sloan died last Thursday. I didn't actually know him, though from the one time I talked to him, he seemed like a really cool guy. He hooked me up with the demo AS-R that solidified my bike choice. Gave me a "We usually rent them for 24 hours...but you should stop by Yeti on a Friday, and you'll get the entire weekend." Sad loss for the mountain bike community. Looks like Yeti is having a memorial ride this Friday at 11:00am at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. Sad news.

Anthony was a great person. I'm grateful to have ridden with and drunk beer with him. He'll be missed.
Wish I'd known him better.
(there are a couple large threads about this over on emptybeer, btw)
Sad news indeed. Didn't ever know him - - my dealings were always with Seth (Bubba) - - but it sounds like he was a great guy. The Tribe has lost a good one.
