Some of us are riding AC this Saturday starting at Clear Creek and heading for Dawson Saddle. Roll at 8.

I'd like to John, but I'll be in Davis for the Double. Have a great ride and say "Hi!" to Vertical Bob for me!

David13,

Where did hear this information? I remembered reading the date was delayed for some time due to a screw up by the contractor. These photos taken by a mountain biking friend back in Oct '08, which makes the May date possible. At the time it was reported there was going to be a year delay due to this beam breaking. The contractor was reported to incur a penalty of $4K per day they were late.

UPDATE:
The following is from Howard the Volunteer Coordinator with the ANF.
"Cal Trans is scheduled to open the road from Islip Saddle to Vincent Gap at a ribbon cutting ceremony on 5/20 at Vincent Gap."

What I'm planning is about 70 but I may try to extend it by 20. If you start at the bottom near the 210 and go to Wrightwood and back I think it's about 120.

This is where it came from. The ceremony is at 9:30 then they open the road at noon. The broken beam delay was in January, and was replaced.

It was beautiful up there today. I got sick coming back down from Dawson Saddle but the guys were still at Newcomb Ranch when I got there. Felt better after eating. Urbanknight rode very well today.
