I'm sure Greggs aren't happy about it, there'll be less than a mile away. I think it opens this weekend.

a performance just moved in and set up in portland too, right next to PGE park within 1 mile of 5 other bike shops. Took them 3 weeks to go from empty to open.

There's a Performance Bike about a quarter mile from the Bike Gallery in Beaverton. I think they both benefit from the proximity. I can go to BG to get service or quality parts, and then pop into PB for some cheap tubes when I'm done. Seriously, many are the days that I've gone to both shops.

Performance in Seattle hasn't seemed to affect the business at the other shops downtown, same as the Redmond/Bellevue PBS hasn't forced the other local shops away. People go to either shop because they know what they want:

I go to SVC or another LBS when I want something special like my generator driven rando stuff and high end clothing.
I go to Performance when I need to stock up on Accelerade, or for their sale stuff, or I need a new wheel and don't have time to wait on ordering parts to build one.

Over by the complex that houses Marshall's and Michaels which is across from the Interurban Trail. You can see it from !-5.
