Micheal Mann directed a bunch of kewl movies: The Keep, a great horror flick from the F. Paul Wilson book, Thief, with james caan, from the book the home invaders-- which i have never read, and manhunter, from the book red dragon-- superior to the remake imho. He also directed the movie Heat which has one of the best running gun battles i have ever seen.

He is fond of Tangerine Dream soundtracks and they are another good reason to check out these excellent older flicks.
