Commuting - Commuting Survey

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
All you commuters might be interested in taking this survey. Some of the questions in my month missed the mark, but others may be different.

Blwyn Thanks for submitting the survey. I felt the questions, for my group, relayed information that might help bike path planners determine the likes and dislikes of commuters. Hope it goes for a good cause.

An interesting survey. I hope the results have some benefit to cyclists.

Good survey but what does one's birth month have to do with the commuting/cycling?
I didn't take the time to look at questions for other months.

The first half of the survey is the same for everyone, the second half has different sets of questions (I didn't count how many sets). I presume that they work on the assumption that date of birth is roughly evenly spread across the year, and is a reasonable way of 'randomly' selecting who gets which set, in order to ask more questions without having an unduly long survey.

At every school I went to there was a peak of birthdays in May, 9 months after the August hols.

Interesting survey,... I like that they let you add your email to view the results.
I used to live in Austin, and they have good hike-and-bike commuter paths throughout the city. There was a push there for a while to put bike lanes on every new road built, but I am not sure what became of that.

I ride. I fall down. I get up.
Meanwhile, I keep dancing.

Interesting, but it was a little biased. There was a question about the slowest method I have used to get to work. But "bicycle" was not one of the options. I have heard over and over that biking is faster than driving for trips under 10 miles (or something), but that hasn't been my experience. It takes me 20 minutes to drive to work or about 30 to bike. I'll still bike, because I like doing it, but we need to be honest here. Also, I know that it has been said that biking is much faster than driving when you factor in the amount of time you spend at work just to pay for the car. This is true enough, but I'm not going to sell my car any time soon, so I still pay that price, too.

Try catching a bus and see how long that takes. I can walk faster usually.
