Bike Swap - Sunday May 17th in New Paltz

Do you have a pile of old bike parts that clutter up the garage? Are you looking to make an old bike road worthy but dont want to spend a lot? Need some tires, shifters, wheels or other stuff for your bike you cant find any where? Well you are in luck.

Mark your calendars for the second annual **Re-Cycling Bicycle Swap Meet** on Sunday May 17th at the Elting Library in New Paltz from Noon to 4 PM. The library is at 93 Main Street across from Chase Bank. THIS SUNDAY MAY 17TH.

Bring your used bikes, bike parts, bike clothes and accessories to sell or swap. Your used parts may be another rider's treasure.

Last year we had many cool bikes, bike frames (road, mountain, BMX), wheels, fixies stuff, saddles, seats, bars, cranks, front and rear shocks, disc brakes, shifters, bike jerseys, kid carriers, bike racks, clothes, bike shoes, and more. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Bring in bike related items starting at 10:00 am. Volunteers will help price and tag all goods. At the end of the sale, pick up your unsold items and your cash. 20% of all sales will go to the Fats in the Cats bike club as a fund raiser. Fats in the Cats is a Hudson Valley club that promotes cycling advocacy, trail work, bike friendly legislation and all types of cycling culture. More about the Fats in the Cats at www.fatsinthecats.com.

Come out and help the club raise some money, and get rid of stuff you have been tripping over for years. There are going to be some great finds, and great deals.

Is this sort of thing on the rise? We had one a couple of weeks ago in my town, Maplewood, NJ. It was our first, and we'll have it again next year. The town actually supported it.
