I drove to work today...all the impending thunderstorms make me nervous with that big steel thing between my legs...and my driving route took me past 3 Yard Sales! Needless to say I showed up kinda late to work :innocent:

Yard sale #3 was good to me. I spied a brooks saddle on top of a blue 10 speed in my size before I even stepped out of the car... Its a Miyata 110! sprung Brooks B.67 saddle in great condition, Cr-Mo main tubes, 1024 steel forks and stays, Nice lookin 3 piece crankset, Araya Rims laces to Sunshine hubs. Suntour 7 front and rear derailleurs (the cage is a little bent on the FD), Suntour Stem shifters (i think they might be retro-friction) and a nice kickstand. All it needs is air in the tires and its ready to ride.

My first Japanese road bike :) Only 25 Bux!!

Nice find! I spotted one of those in a thrift store yesterday priced at $29.95. It was the same color, but it had a lower-end component group.

According to the Catalog archive this appears to be a 1982 model in "Ocean Blue"

Its almost hard to believe Miyata's entry level bike is made with Cr-Mo main tubes, but it sure is light.

Holy crap its fast  :D

I certainly didn't expect it to have such speed. The handling is really different from what i'm used to. Its like almost completely impervious to lean, you gotta haul on the bars to get it to turn. Very stable, makes me want to go fast :D

Now the hard part....figuring out how to spiff it up

I picked one up for $40 about a month ago. It was advertised asn an '83, but it was an '82 due to the '83 being the year they went to downtube shifters. For a low end bike, the 110 frame is very nice indeed! Mine was in very good condition cosmetically, but the hubs and bits needed work, and the derailleur hanger was bent. I converted it to a fixed gear with a different wheelset and sold it for $195.
