Now that would be an awesome commuter bike. No chain(s) to mess with and no ugly external motors hanging off.

Now this is one e-bike I'd love to test ride. I don't know any place in the Seattle area that carries it.

It depends what the customer is looking for. The Schwinn bike is for someone who needs a slight assist in a lightweight package that doesn't scream "ebike". It would be the difference between needing a shower when you get to work vs. still being presentable.

The Schwinn would be ideal for the 22 million people that live in New York, as well as any other crowded metropolitan area. Schwinn is out to sell bikes and make money, and if they can actually get their new bikes into big box stores, they will do well. I doubt they could care less about volcano dwellers.

And they may sell if they were a couple hundred instead of a couple thousand for a weak system.Whats a volcano dweller?
